Berger's Greenhouse is a local family owned grower of hydroponic, non- GMO, chemical free, pesticide free lettuce and herbs in a controlled greenhouse environment located in Elimsport, PA. We offer three varieties of lettuce - Butterhead, Monte Carlo Romaine and Bergam's leafy green. We also grow basil and arugula in the winter. Our business runs all year round.

Hydroponically grown refers to plants grown in a nutrient dense water solution as opposed to soil. This type of lettuce offers all the benefits of traditional, soil grown lettuce. But it has the advantage of being protected from the contaminants that so often lead to food recalls. It is also more sustainable, using less water, no soil and no chemical pesticides. Crops grown in a local hydroponic farm are, in fact, better in taste and safer than the lettuce you might find farmed otherwise. Hydroponic lettuce can last two to four weeks due to roots staying intact.
