About Us
Nestled in the hills of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, Mama Goose Homestead is a small-batch sourdough micro bakery and farmstand rooted in tradition, community, and the art of slow food. Founded by mother-of-four and Sourdough Artisan, Rachel Nance. A dear friend, Clay Webster/Owner of Lo-Fi Farms, has stepped in to help carry the vision forward — lending both skill and heart to the daily rhythm of baking, growing, and creating. His dedication and friendship have become an essential part of what makes Mama Goose Homestead thrive.
Every loaf and jar that leaves our kitchen is a labor of love — handmade, long-fermented, and inspired by life on our family homestead.
Our sourdough is crafted from a 300-year-old German starter, nurtured daily and naturally leavened for deep flavor and easier digestion. Beyond bread, we also offer farm-fresh and foraged goods, herbal creations, honey, and vintage finds, all reflecting the rhythm of the seasons and the beauty of country living.
At Mama Goose Homestead, we believe food should connect people — to their health, their land, and each other. Each item we make tells a story of care, heritage, and resilience, rising with love right here in rural Pennsylvania.
